Our client has over 20 years experience supporting livelihood-challenged communities in Africa to sustainably improve their well-being and standard of living. They are looking to hire a Finance and Administration Manager to join their dedicated team.

Job Purpose

To manage financial management systems and avail in a timely manner, accurate financial management reports to enable effective management and monitoring of projects. The job holder will also be responsible for budgeting and maintaining sound internal controls in line with local laws and donor regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the budgeting process in coordination with operations and programs team
  • Take the lead in all project audits
  • Provide guidance and assistance to the team on managing donor expectations. 
  • In close collaboration with the Operations team oversee the implementation of effective financial and accounting policies and procedures in line with corporate guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational standards in the areas of approvals, financial procedures and internal control.
  • Prepare monthly financial management accounts as and when they fall due.
  • Prepare financial reports and documentation  for periodic donor verification
  • Ensure full compliance with donor , host government, and organizational requirements and budgets spending guidelines
  • Ensure there are adequate procedures for identifying the financial impact of changes in proposed activities and for producing revised budgets in line with available funding.
  • Management of staff under their direct supervision through performance management; coaching and team work

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Commerce or equivalent
  • Master’s in Business Accounting, Commerce or Finance, will be an added advantage
  • Qualified Accountant- ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent
  • At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in financial management
  • Excellent  budgeting, financial planning and report-writing skills
  • Multiple donor experience with a good understanding of their financial reporting requirements.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian aid and development programming
  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
  • Strong people skills
